Man Shot Dead In San Jose; City's 3rd Homicide Of 2021

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police were investigating a homicide Wednesday evening, the city's third of the year ollowing fatal shootings on Saturday and Sunday.

Police closed two blocks around 6 p.m. Wednesday -- South Fifth Street from Martha Street to East Virginia Street and East Virginia Street between South Fourth Street and South Sixth Street -- on the report of a shooting.

Officers found a man who had life-threatening injuries, police said.

By 11:30 p.m. the shooting had been reclassified as a homicide, police said.

The victim was not identified and there was no information on any suspects.
