Police Arrest Woman For Stealing Package From Front Door Of El Cerrito Home

EL CERRITO (CBS SF) -- Police in El Cerrito arrested a woman for taking a package from a home Wednesday.

An officer was riding in the 900 block of Richmond Street when he saw a woman opening and emptying a package outside a home, police said.

The officer detained the woman, 21-year-old Tessy Azuara, and learned that she had just taken the package after it was delivered to a home by a delivery company, according to police.

Azuara had additional property that may have been stolen from other package thefts in the area, police said.

Police said that Azuara was also wanted in Napa County for a prior theft.

She was arrested and later booked into county jail.

Anyone who may have seen the woman near their home or may have missing packages is asked to call El Cerrito police at (510) 237-3233.
