Police Activity, Crash Shuts Down Eastbound Interstate 80
PINOLE (CBS SF) -- Police activity and a vehicle collision closed all lanes of eastbound Interstate-80, just west of state Highway 4, in Pinole Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 11 p.m, eastbound traffic was being diverted off of I-80 at Pinole Valley Road.
The highway is not far from where a pregnant mother of four died on Highway 4 in Pittsburg Wednesday after shots were fired into her vehicle.
In April, another person died in a shooting on a neighboring stretch of Highway 4.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use alternate routes, as there is no estimated time of opening, according to the CHP.
