Pokemon Go Player Slashed With Knife While Playing In Downtown San Jose

SAN JOSE (AP) -- A man is recovering after being brutally attacked with a knife while playing Pokemon Go in San Jose last week.

Comic book artist Chris Perguidi says he was playing the trendy game on San Carlos Street near Second Street when a man and woman began yelling at him before they attacked him.

Perguidi says the couple thought he was recording them with his cell phone.

Perguidi says other Pokemon Go players called police and helped him put pressure on his wound to stop the bleeding. The suspects ran away the scene. No arrests have been made.

He sustained a serious cut to his chin that required 15 external stitches as well as internal stitches to close the large gash, the station reported.

Perguidi says he will continue to play the game once he is recovered.
