Pleasant Hill Man Arrested For Alleged Burglary Attempts In Concord Neighborhood

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A 30-year-old Pleasant Hill man was arrested after allegedly trying to burglarize homes in Concord's Dana Farms neighborhood early Wednesday morning, a police lieutenant said.

Raymond Allen was arrested after a resident in the area of Lewis and Ironwood ways called police just after 12:30 a.m. to report that an unknown man with a backpack was in her backyard, Concord police Lt. Ivan Menchaca said.

The same resident called police again moments later to report that the man was jumping residential fences in the area.

As officers arrived, police received another call from a resident on nearby Merritt Court saying that a man was in their backyard, Menchaca said.

Officers were able to locate the suspect a short time later on Merritt Court.

The suspect, later identified as Allen, was arrested on suspicion of attempted residential burglary, prowling and narcotics possession and taken to county jail in Martinez.
