Plane Skids Off Runway, Through Fence At San Jose Reid-Hillview Airport

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) - A plane skidded off the runway and through a fence after landing at San Jose Reid-Hillview airport Thursday afternoon.

Two people on board the turbo-prop plane were able to walk away from the crash with no injuries.

Authorities said the plane landed normally but experienced a brake failure.

San Jose Fire Department personnel were at the site just after 5:00 p.m. to for a possible fuel spill. It turned out hydraulic fluid was what spilled from the plane, according to Eric Peterson, assistant director of Reid-Hillview Airport.

Crews were able to attach a line to the plane and pull it off the fence.
