Massage Parlor Worker Killed Fending Off Armed Bandit

PITTSBURG (CBS SF) -- A robbery at a Pittsburg massage parlor led to a fatal shooting on Sunday night, according to police.

An employee at Super Massage at 156 Atlantic Ave. was found slain after officers responded at 8:20 p.m. to a reported shooting at the location, Pittsburg police Capt. Ron Raman said.

Police learned a suspect entered the massage parlor, demanded money and then fought with employees. During the scuffle, the suspect took out a firearm and shot an employee before fleeing, Raman said.

The employee, a man whose identity has not been released, suffered at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were still seeking the suspect in the shooting.
