Pilot Unhurt After Light Plane Crash Lands In Sonoma County Vineyard

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A small, private plane crash-landed in a field in the unincorporated community of Kenwood Saturday afternoon with no injuries, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said Sunday.

The pilot was the only person on board, Ian Gregor, a spokesman for the FAA Pacific Division, said. The plane crash-landed around 12:20 p.m., he said.

According to Sonoma County Sheriff's officials, the plane crash-landed in a vineyard in the area of Highway 12 and Dunbar Road.

Gregor described the plane as a home-built STOL CH701.

"The FAA will investigate," Gregor said in an e-mail.
