MENLO PARK (CBS SF) -- A pickup truck flipped on U.S. Highway 101 Thursday afternoon, blocking three lanes of the highway in Menlo Park, and seriously injuring the driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The truck was hauling rocks and bags of concrete when it hit the center divider and overturned at about 3:45 p.m. near the Marsh Road off-ramp to southbound Highway 101, the CHP said.

An ambulance was called and a Caltrans sweeper has been requested to remove concrete spilled on the roadway, according to the CHP.

Two lanes remained blocked as of around 4 p.m.
