PG&E Restores Nearly Half Of Outages Affecting More Than 4,000 San Francisco Customers

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF)_ Power has been restored to nearly half of the more than 4,000 PG&E customers affected by an outage in San Francisco Friday morning, a utility spokesman said.

The first outage was reported around 10:15 a.m. and knocked out power to about 3,600 customers in the Western Addition, Japantown and Van Ness corridor, PG&E spokesman Jason King said. Power was restored to 1,900 of those customers a short time after 11:20 a.m., King said.

A second outage happened around 10:30 a.m. and is affecting 555 customers both in Japantown around Sutter and Post streets and on the other side of Van Ness Avenue along Polk Street between Post and California streets, King said.

The spokesman said crews are on scene working to restore power. An estimate for when power would be completely restored was not available.

King said the two separate outages appear to be related but that the cause has not been determined.
