Peterson Fire Chews Through 215 Acres In Lake County

LAKE COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A new fire in Lake County has now burned through 215 acres of vegetation.

The Peterson Fire broke out on Saturday evening off Peterson Lane and Adobe Creek Road near Kelseyville.

Fire officials say structures are threatened, but they haven't had to issue any evacuation orders. The flames are 30 percent contained as of Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Fire in Lake and Napa counties is now 98 percent contained, after burning over 39 square miles and destroying six homes.

The causes of both fires are under investigation.
