MIDDLETOWN (CBS SF) -- One civilian has died in the Valley Fire, Cal Fire officials have confirmed Sunday night.

The Valley Fire ignited Saturday at about 1:30 p.m. in Lake County and has spread to Napa and Sonoma counties, according to Cal Fire.

The fire prompted the governor earlier Sunday to declare a state of emergency in Napa and Lake counties, state officials said.

The fire has burned 50,000 acres in less than 36 hours and was zero percent contained as of 4:10 p.m. Sunday, Cal Fire officials said.
