5 People Killed In Foggy Central Valley Crash On Hwy 4 Near Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) -- Authorities say that five people are dead after a 2-vehicle crash east of Stockton Tuesday morning.

The crash scene is on eastbound Highway 4 near Van Allen Road.

California Highway Patrol says the five killed were all riding in the same van when they hit by a pickup truck.

Investigators say the van had been heading northbound Van Allen Road and was trying to cross State Route 4 when it was broadsided by a pickup truck heading eastbound.

Initially, four people were reported killed in the crash, but a little later it was announced that a fifth person had died.

Fog is believed to have been a contributing factor.
