Pedestrian struck, killed near San Jose Municipal Golf Course

SAN JOSE -- San Jose police investigators were in a neighborhood near the San Jose Municipal Golf Course Thursday evening where an elderly woman was struck and killed by a vehicle.

The accident occurred in the area of Lundy and Sajak avenues, just east of the golf course at about 7:26 p.m.

Police said a man driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla was heading southbound on Lundy Avenue in the number one lane when he hit the pedestrian walking across lanes of traffic on Lundy outside of any marked crosswalk.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. No drug or alcohol influence was suspected.

This is the 53rd fatal collision, and the 55th traffic death of 2022. This also the 28th pedestrian fatality of the year.
