Pedestrian Killed In Hayward Hit-And-Run

HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run in Hayward Monday evening, according to police.

Officers responded to the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Tahoe Avenue around 6:40 p.m.

A woman crossing Hesperian in a lit crosswalk was struck by two vehicles, including a dark Toyota Corolla from the 1990s. The driver stopped briefly and a group of men wearing hooded sweatshirts stepped out of the vehicle before they fled the scene, according to police.

The other driver remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the subsequent investigation, according to police.

The Toyota remains at large and is believed to have extensive damage to the windshield, hood and front fender.
