Pedestrian Hit By VTA Bus In Los Altos

LOS ALTOS (CBS SF) -- A pedestrian was struck by a bus and suffered moderate injuries Thursday afternoon in Los Altos, a police spokesman said.

Police received a call at 12:47 p.m. reporting the collision at El Camino Real and Cesano Court, Los Altos police spokesman Agent Steven Spillman said.

According to a couple of witnesses, there may have been some inattention on the part of both the bus driver and the pedestrian, but police are still investigating, Spillman said.

The bus was traveling west on El Camino Real, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority spokeswoman Stacey Hendler Ross said. She did not know which way the pedestrian was walking.

The pedestrian was taken to Stanford Hospital. No one on the bus was injured, according to Spillman.

VTA officials and Los Altos police will be investigating the collision.
