Pedestrian Hit And Killed In East San Jose, Driver Arrested

SAN JOSE (KCBS) – A woman was struck and killed when a car hit her in East San Jose on Tuesday afternoon.

San Jose Police said it happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. in the area of Barberry Lane and South King Road.

Arriving officers found an adult female pedestrian in the street suffering from serious injuries.  A short time later, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene of the collision and was arrested.  The circumstances surrounding the collision are still being investigated.

This is San Jose's 38th traffic fatality so far in 2014.
