Pedestrian Fatally Struck By 2 Cars In Sunnyvale

SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) – Two cars struck and killed a man in Sunnyvale early Friday morning, Department of Public Safety officials said.

Officers and firefighters responded to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in the area of Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road and La Connor Drive around 5 a.m., public safety officials said.

Crews found the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, suffering from serious injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene, according to public safety officials.

A preliminary investigation showed two cars struck the pedestrian and both drivers stayed at the scene where they cooperated with officers, according to public safety officials.

It does not appear drugs or alcohol was a factor in the collision, public safety officials said.

No arrests were made.

The pedestrian was struck in an area with no crosswalks, according to public safety officials.

Sunnyvale-Saratoga Road is closed between Cheyenne Drive and East Homestead Road for the collision investigation. The roadway is expected to reopen around 10 a.m., public safety officials said.
