Pedestrian Fatally Struck Near Civic Center in SF

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — A pedestrian was fatally struck by vehicle late Sunday night in San Francisco near the Civic Center, police said.

The driver of a pickup truck travelling northbound on Van Ness Avenue struck pedestrian at about 11 p.m. on Van Ness Avenue, between Turk Boulevard and Golden Gate Avenue, Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Shyy said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperated with police.

The collision is still under investigation but according to Shyy, early indications are that the pedestrian was no in the sidewalk at the time of the collision.
