Pedestrian Dies After Bicyclist Slams Into Her From Around Blind Corner In Los Altos Hills

LOS ALTOS HILLS (CBS SF) -- A pedestrian struck by a bicyclist on a blind curve Monday in Los Altos Hills later died from her injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP received the first call at 11:02 a.m. Monday of the collision on Page Mill Road near Central Drive, about 1.5 miles west of Interstate Highway 280, CHP spokesman Officer Art Montiel said.

The bicyclist was riding east on Page Mill Road at 25 mph, came around the curve and struck a woman crossing the road, Montiel said.

The woman was not in a crosswalk, Montiel said. The CHP has not made any arrests in the case and it appears neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, he said.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office identified the woman as 61-year-old Los Altos resident Kathryn Green.

Green suffered major injuries and was taken to Stanford Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries Wednesday, Montiel said. The bicyclist suffered minor injuries and abrasions in the collision.
