Passenger Survey Ranks SFO 'Best Airport In North America' For Customer Service

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- When you are weary after a long trip, sometimes a simple, "please," or "thank you," is like music to your ears.

Apparently, enough customers at San Francisco International heard those words during their travels there because they voted the airport number one in customer service in the nation.

San Francisco International Airport has been named the best airport in North America for customer service in the SkyTrax Passengers' Choice Award for 2015. Denver and Vancouver got second and third place, respectively.

SkyTrax compiled more than 13 million survey questionnaires at 550 airports worldwide that asked customers to rate their travel experience. Things like check-in, arrivals, departures, transfers, shopping, immigration and security were covered.

"We are very proud to be recognized for the best customer service staff in North America. Our goal is to provide our guests with an exceptional airport experience, and this award validates those efforts."

Besides top honors for best staff, the SkyTrax survey ranked SFO number four in the categories for "Best Airports Worldwide" and "Best Airports in North America."
