Panda Express Manager Hurt In Palo Alto Restaurant Fire

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- A manager at a Palo Alto restaurant suffered minor injuries when a fire broke out in the restaurant's kitchen Monday morning, according to fire officials.

Around 9:15 a.m., a passerby reported seeing what appeared to be smoke coming from the Panda Express at 2310 El Camino Real, fire officials said.

At least three employees were inside when the fire broke out and one of them suffered a small burn, according to Palo Alto Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Woodard.

The kitchen sustained minimal damage and the restaurant will likely be closed throughout the day, Woodward said.

Although fire investigators believe the fire was most likely cooking-related, the cause remains under investigation, according to Woodward.
