Palo Alto Police Arrest 5 Suspects In Hit-And-Run Collision With Bicyclist

PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- Police in Palo Alto took three more suspects into custody Friday evening after a hit-and-run crash left a bicyclist with major injuries.

Police first reported the collision, which took place in the 200 block of Homer Avenue, on Twitter at 4:50 p.m. The bicyclist was taken to a hospital and police arrested two suspects.

With the help of a police K-9 unit and a California Highway Patrol helicopter, officers found the three other suspects hiding in a shed in the search area, which was south of downtown Palo Alto, police said at 6:18 p.m.

After making the three additional arrests, police called off the search.
