Pacific Heights Mansion Sells For Nearly $24 Million; SF's Most Expensive Sale In 2015

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – One of San Francisco's priciest listings is no longer for sale. The 13,500 square foot Queen Anne mansion at 2724 Pacific Avenue just sold for $23,889,000, setting the record for real estate sales in The City, so far this year.

The home was designed by E.A. Hermann in 1894. The San Francisco-born architect set up his practice on Sutter Street, and would go on to design other stately mansions in Pacific Heights, Presideo Heights and on Belvedere Island.

Still, the house on Pacific was his masterpiece. Hermann's original architecture has survived several renovations over the years. Originally listed at $30,000,000, the 4-level home boasts 7 bedrooms, 7 full baths, formal gardens, a spa, media room, library, carriage house, 4-car garage, and practically 360 degree views.

Seller, former stock exchange chairman Doug Engmann, put the mansion on market in 2012. The buyer goes by an LLC bearing the same name as the property's address, 2728 Pacific. This purchase may soon be topped by a Pacific Heights penthouse condo at 2006 Washington. The list price for that? $30,000,000.
