Overturned Truck Cleared From Hwy 92 Near Half Moon Bay

HALF MOON BAY (CBS SF) -- All westbound lanes of state Highway 92 are now open after being closed for an extended period of time due to a overturned big-rig east of Half Moon Bay, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.

CHP Officer Art Montiel said that after diverting drivers to both upper and lower state Highway 35 to try and ease the strains of built-up traffic, tow trucks have cleared out all the debris.

CHP received the call at 7:38 a.m. that a large recycling truck had rolled over just east of Skyline Boulevard, Montiel said.

After arriving, officers provided one-way traffic control. It took a few hours for tow trucks to successfully clear the area because the truck was fully loaded, the spokesman said.

Montiel said there were significant delays while crews worked to get the truck upright and clear the scene.
