Jilted? On Valentine's Day Say 'I Love You' (Not!) With A Hissing Cockroach Adopted From The SF Zoo

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- This Valentine's Day, say 'I love you' with a hissing cockroach.

The San Francisco Zoo has come up with a warm way for jilted lovers to show their dis-affection –- hissing cockroaches and giant hairy scorpions.

For a fee, you can adopt one of these lovely critters in the name of your current or soon-to-be ex-lover. The zoo can use the money to further the Zoological Society's mission, so consider it a win-win. You've turned that relationship gone sour into a positive.

For those who are still smitten on V-Day, the zoo is offering more cuddly adoption alternatives such as the red panda, an African lion, even a ring-tailed lemur.

For better or for worse, adoptions don't actually include the critter. For prices and more information, visit the San Francisco Zoo's website.
