Officials Find Rohnert Park Officer Justified In Pulling Gun On Man Following Viral Video

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. (CBS/AP) -- A Rohnert Park city investigation into a police officer who was caught on video drawing his gun on a man who was not accused of a crime has found the officer's actions were reasonable and did not violate city policy.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that Rohnert Park officials released a two-page summary of the investigation's finding Wednesday.

The widely circulated video from July 29 shows the officer get out of his cruiser, draw his gun and tell the man to take his hand from his pocket.

The man told the officer to put down the gun and complied. No arrests were made. The officer was responding to a complaint about parking.

An attorney for the man who took the video says they will file a civil rights claim against the city on Thursday.
