Hit-And-Run Driver Slams Into Walnut Creek Police Car, Injuring Officer

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) -- An officer was injured late Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in Walnut Creek, according to police.

Police said the officer was in a patrol vehicle at Parkside Drive and Hillside Avenue at 10:16 p.m., when another vehicle hit the patrol car.

According to police, the vehicle had allegedly just been involved in a felony hit and run.

The driver was taken into custody before being taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The officer was also transported to a hospital with injuries, however there was no information on the condition of the officer or the extent of the injuries.

Police said the incident is currently under investigation.
