Oddsmakers Like Broncos Over Seahawks, 49ers As Super Bowl Favorites

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Just moths after claiming their first ever Super Bowl title it appears the Seattle Seahawks have already been unseated as the team to beat for Super Bowl XLIX by the team they just shredded in the last big game.

Training camps open this week for all five of the top contenders, as determined by bookies. The Denver Broncos are the overall favorite, at 13/2 followed by the Seahawks at 7/1, San Francisco 49ers at 15/2, New England Patriots at 9/1 and the Green Bay Packers at 10/1, according to gaming website Bodog. Which lists the Bears, Colts and Saints at 14/1 as other plausible winners. The website Vegas.com lists the top five teams in the same order.

Immediately following the 43-8 victory over the Broncos in the Super Bowl, the Seahawks were viewed as the clear number one team in the league, followed by a 49ers team that narrowly lost to the Hawks in the final minutes of the NFC Championship game. In fact, Vegas.com, says the Seahawks opened the wagering as favorites to repeat, but the line has moved to make the Broncos the favorite before anyone even put on a helmet for the 2014 season.

Bodog sees the Jacksonville Jaguars as by far the worst team in the league at 250/1, below the Vikings, Raiders and Titans at 100/1.
