Oakland Shootings Send 2 Victims To Hospital

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Two people suffering gunshot wounds were hospitalized after two separate shootings, one that occurred late Saturday night and another that occurred early Sunday morning.

Two other people were injured by broken glass in a shooting earlier Saturday afternoon but were not hit by gunfire.

Around 8:40 p.m. Saturday, officers learned that a person suffering from a gunshot wound had walked into a hospital, according to police.

After a preliminary investigation, officers determined the juvenile male victim had been struck by bullets in the 2300 block of 77th Avenue, police said.

The victim was listed in stable condition.

Then around 12:20 a.m. today, officers responded to the 1900 block of East 22nd Street, police said.

There, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was able to transport himself to the hospital and was listed in stable condition.

No arrests were made in either incident and suspect information was not immediate available.

Earlier Saturday, two people suffered minor injuries after a suspect shot at them while they were inside a vehicle in West Oakland.

Around 12:45 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of 30th Street, for a report of a shooting, police said.

After a preliminary investigation, officers determined a suspect shot at the passengers of a vehicle.

Two victims suffered minor injuries from broken glass and were treated at the scene, the dispatcher said.

No arrests were made and police are investigating the incident.
