Raiders Select Amari Cooper With 4th Pick In NFL Draft

(CBS SF) – With the fifth pick in the 2015 NFL draft the Oakland Raiders select Amari Cooper, a wide receiver from Alabama.

The Raiders drafted a position of need and they scored with Amari Cooper. He's 6-1, 211, and fittingly enough was the winner of the Fred Biletnikoff Award which goes to the nation's most outstanding receiver.

Cooper led the country in receptions with 124, was second in yards with 1, 727 and second in touchdowns with 16.

He can stretch the field and is a playmaker, which the Raiders haven't had at wideout since, well, Fred Biletnikoff. Kidding there, but you get the point.

The knock on Cooper is that he doesn't finish routes and that's a concern, he also dropped 13 passes in his last two seasons.

Some analysts think Kevin White was a better WR in this draft, but Cooper is pro ready right now. He's a smart pick for the development of quarterback Derek Carr.

On my judging scale of five footballs, I give it a 4.5 footballs.
