Oakland Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Blaze At Commercial Building On International Blvd

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland firefighters are on the scene of a two-alarm fire at a large commercial building on Thursday morning in the Fruitvale District, fire officials said.

Crews responded to the fire on 3136 International Blvd.—an abandoned bank on the corner of Fruitvale Avenue—at about 3:30 a.m. The normally busy intersection was closed due the multiple fire trucks on the scene.

Fire officials told KCBS that there were not many combustibles inside but that they were trying to keep the fire from spreading.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown and there is no known history of squatters in the area.
