Neighbors Worried About New Blasts At Explosive Suspect's Home In Novato

NOVATO (CBS SF) -- Marin County Sheriff's deputies have detained a Novato woman who may have set off explosives at her home.

The UC Berkeley bomb squad was at the same house on Pacheco Ave. last month when they found 87 explosive devices and crystal meth.

Neighbors complained they heard explosions again on Monday night.

Deputies detained 43-year-old Laureen Mason, the same woman arrested last month along, with a man for having those explosive devices.

"The interesting thing is that person was let out on bail the very next day and has been out of custody," said Lt. Doug Pittman. "And for whatever reasons we don't know, led us to come back here today because we're again receiving reports of explosions."

Both suspects are due in court Tuesday morning to face those felonies from last month. Mason, who has a 5-year-old daughter, faces child endangerment charges. Police say her 5-year-old daughter was in the house during last month's explosive's bust but not last night.
