The person was confirmed dead at the scene. It is unknown what the person was doing on the tracks at the time of the incident, according to Allison.

The riders on the train involved in the incident were transferred to another train. Further details about the incident were not immediately available.

An unrelated issue caused delays between the Hayward and Bay Fair stations Wednesday morning. Allison said riders should use Bay Fair station when heading out for their morning commute during the investigation.
