Nicki Minaj Surpasses Taylor Swift For Hot 100 Hits

(RADIO.COM) – Back in November, Nicki Minaj tied Taylor Swift for having the second-most number of hits to ever chart on Billboard's Hot 100. Over the course of their careers, each had 69 songs that appeared on the chart. But now Minaj has surpassed Swift.

Minaj's "Black Barbies," her take on Rae Sremmurd's massive hit "Black Beatles," landed at the number 65 spot and gave Minaj the slight edge over Swift with 70 songs in total. And she hasn't released a new album since 2014's The Pinkprint.

The only person standing in Minaj's way for number one is Aretha Franklin, who has scored a serious and impressive 73 songs on the Hot 100 chart. Considering Minaj is reportedly working on her next project, besides featuring like crazy on several others, it seems likely she'll be able to surpass Franklin. That is, if Swift doesn't release an album first. Given how close they remain, it seems these two will be dueling for top dog for the rest of their careers.
