New 'Star Wars' Documentary Debuts At South By Southwest Festival

(CBS SF) – Star Wars fans will be most impressed by the upcoming featurette included with the DVD/BluRay release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" on April 5th.

"Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey" made it's on-screen premiere at Austin's South By Southwest (SXSW) Festival on Monday. The documentary goes behind the scenes with the cast and film crew on the making of "The Force Awakens."

J.J. Abrams moderated the special screening at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas, according to Entertainment Weekly. "What's so cool about this is that it shows and highlights people who put their heart and soul into making The Force Awakens. They were the greatest group of filmmakers, artists, and storytellers. To get to see the people behind the scenes was fun, frankly, even for me, and I was there." Abrams said.

So far, the film has grossed over $926 million domesitcally and $2.05 billion worldwide.
