New Gas On Demand App Launches In The Bay Area

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A new app, called WeFuel, launched in the Bay Area this week and is one of a growing number of companies that will come out and fill up your gas tank for a fee.

WeFuel co-founder, Ale Donzis explains how it's done.

"You just plug it into your car, and we can read the tank level, know exactly the position of the vehicle, and we can open the fuel hatch so we can deliver the gas without user intervention," Donzis said.

He says the plug-in device is currently in beta testing but their app is up and running.

WeFuel charges a $7.49 delivery fee, plus the average price of gas per gallon in your zip code. Delivery is only available in Palo Alto and Menlo Park but there are plans to expand.
