Netflix Users Freaking Out Over Rumors Of 3rd Party Ads Coming To Streaming Service

LOS GATOS (CBS SF) -- Netflix users have been freaking out Monday over rumors that the streaming content service will begin testing third party advertisements while movies and shows play.

CEO Reed Hastings posted on his personal Facebook page that "no advertising coming onto Netflix. Period.  Just adding relevant cool trailers for other Netflix content you are likely to love."

Despite Hastings' post, Netflix users took to social media to voice their distaste with the possibility of ads playing during their content.

Philip Venero tweeted "@netflix I will cancel my membership if I see ads."

Paul Dypes tweeted that 'If #netflix dare to put ads in their show, is the day I cancel that subsctiption."

Joi Herod tweeted 'Noooo (crying emoji) Netflix won't be the same w/ads."

So, to be clear, Netflix won't be playing ads for products and services like you see on TV during commercial breaks; they will be playing trailers for their own original content.
