Hours-Long Standoff With Truck Driver In Danville Neighborhood Ends Peacefully

DANVILLE (CBS SF) – An hours-long standoff between a man who barricaded himself in a pickup truck and Danville police ended peacefully Wednesday night.

The confrontation began Wednesday afternoon, in the 100 block of Paraiso Drive, about a block from Interstate 680.

According to reports, the suspect barricaded himself inside the vehicle. Police blocked off part of the street and told neighbors to stay inside.

Around 7:20 p.m., Danville police said the man, who they described as suicidal, surrendered to police after four hours. The man was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation.

No weapon was found at the scene.
