Napa Opening Center To Provide Locals With Earthquake Relief, Information On Building Permits
NAPA (CBS SF) -- More help is on the way for people who suffered losses in the South Napa earthquake.
On Monday afternoon, the city and county of Napa will open a one-stop shop at First Street and Silverado Trail to help locals.
Business owners and homeowners will be able to get info about building permits, money and food help, and other resources.
The new aid comes a little more than two weeks after the largest Bay Area shaker in 25 years. About 150 buildings are red-tagged and more than a thousand yellow-tagged.
Meanwhile, San Francisco is considering new rules requiring private schools to upgrade earthquake safety measures.
Right now, private schools don't have to meet the same standards as public ones. Under the proposal, the schools would have to foot the bills for any necessary work.
