Mountain Lion Spotted For Multiple Days In San Mateo's Portola Valley

SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- A mountain lion was spotted in Portola Valley the past two days, San Mateo County emergency officials said Sunday.

The sightings occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Portola Road and around 6:15 p.m. Sunday near Hayfields Road, county officials said.

Residents are advised to avoid hiking when mountain lions are most active -- at dawn, dusk or at night -- and to keep a close watch on small children.
