Motorcyclist Killed In Santa Cruz County Crash

SANTA CRUZ (CBS SF) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a truck in Santa Cruz County Tuesday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said.

Officers responded to a report of a collision on East Zayante Road near Quail Hollow Road around 3:50 p.m., CHP Officer Trista Sharp said.

The collision was between a blue pickup truck and motorcyclist, who was thrown 10 to 12 feet down a gully, Sharp said.

The motorcyclist was found and pronounced dead at the scene, Sharp said.

East Zayante Road is closed west of Quail Hollow Road and traffic has been diverted to West Zayante Road, according to Sharp.
