Motorcyclist Killed In Petaluma Crash On Highway 101

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- All lanes of southbound U.S. Highway 101 have reopened following a fatal motorcycle collision Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported around 7:05 a.m. near the Petaluma Boulevard North off-ramp from southbound Highway 101.

A motorcyclist died in a collision with a SUV, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

The crash blocked the No. 2 and 3 lanes. All lanes reopened around 8:55 a.m., according to the CHP.

Traffic was heavy and there was thick fog in the area, according to the CHP.
