Motorcyclist Killed In Crash Near San Mateo Bridge In Hayward
HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning in a collision on westbound state Highway 92 just east of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge toll plaza, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers received the first call of the collision at 7:50 a.m. involving a motorcycle and silver Volkswagen, CHP Officer Ron Simmons said.
Two people went to a hospital and the motorcyclist died there later Wednesday morning, Simmons said.
The crash blocked lanes of westbound Highway 92 in Hayward for more than an hour. All lanes reopened by shortly before 9:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
