Motorcyclist In Santa Rosa Crash Dies

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A motorcyclist who was involved in a crash Wednesday afternoon with at least one other vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Rosa has died at a hospital, a California Highway Patrol officer said Thursday.

John Hancock, 43, of Santa Rosa, was riding south on Highway 101 south of Bicentennial Way around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday when the collision occurred, CHP Officer Nicole Brigstock said.

Hancock died at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital around 12:30 a.m. today, Brigstock said.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, she said.
