Morgan Hill Man Accused Of Stabbing Roommate

MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) – A 55-year-old man allegedly stabbed his roommate in Morgan Hill Friday morning with a knife, a police sergeant said.

Raul Garcia was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police Sgt. Carson Thomas said.

A woman called police shortly after 7:30 a.m. to report her boyfriend was stabbed at their home in the 17000 block of Walnut Grove Drive, police Sgt. Carson Thomas said.

Responding officers spoke with the victim, a 50-year-old man, who suffered two puncture wounds to his side, Thomas said.

The victim's girlfriend told police that the victim and suspect were yelling prior to the stabbing inside the home over an "ongoing issue," according to Thomas.

Emergency crews transported the victim to Regional Medical Center of San Jose for injuries not considered life-threatening, Thomas said. An update on his condition wasn't immediately available this morning.

Garcia was found inside the house and arrested, according to Thomas.

The stabbing happened within the household and there was no threat to the surrounding area, Thomas said.

Anyone with information regarding the case has been asked to call Detective Fernando Del Moral at (669) 253-4964.
