Woman Found Under Train At Montgomery BART Station Causes Delays Systemwide

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – San Francisco's Montgomery BART station has reopened and trains are recovering from a delay Monday evening after a woman was extracted from beneath a train at Montgomery station, a BART spokeswoman said.

Emergency crews received a report at 4:49 p.m. that a person was under the train at Montgomery station, BART spokeswoman Luna Salavar said.

Westbound trains did not go through Montgomery station, while eastbound trains continued running without stopping at the Montgomery station, Salavar said.

Emergency crews uncoupled the trains and were able to remove the woman from the tracks. She was alive and has been transported to the hospital, Salavar said.

Montgomery station reopened around 5:45 p.m. and a slight delay is expected in both directions, according to Salavar.

BART is investigating how the woman came to be on the tracks.
