Monterey Co. Security Guard Arrested In Child Sex Abuse Investigation

MONTEREY (CBS SF) -- A security guard was arrested Monday at his home in unincorporated Prunedale in Monterey County on suspicion of multiple counts of child sexual abuse, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies booked David Jon Thomas, 41, into Monterey County Jail after arresting him at 6 p.m. at his residence, sheriff's Detective Kim Smith said.

The arrest of Thomas, who is employed as a security guard, was the result of an investigation by sheriff's detectives into alleged child molestation, according to Smith.

More details about the case were not immediately available from the sheriff's office.
