Mom's Teen Boyfriend Arrested In Connection With Death Of Sacramento Toddler

SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) -- Sacramento police have arrested a 19-year-old man in the death of a baby girl who was taken to a fire station with a traumatic injury.

Guyland Washington was booked Saturday in the Sacramento County Jail.

Police say Washington was taking care of his girlfriend's 14-month-old daughter while the mother was at work. When she got home, the mother saw the baby needed medical help, and she and Washington took her to Sacramento Fire Station No. 17.

Officials say the baby was in a state of medical distress when she arrived at the fire station Friday evening. The girl was then taken to UC Davis Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators haven't determined a cause of death, but police say the infant suffered a traumatic injury.
