Mobile Banking Here To Stay As More Americans Get Comfortable Banking On The Go

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - People are getting more comfortable doing their banking on their mobile devices.

An annual Federal Reserve survey found that in 2014, 39-percent of adults with mobile phones used their devices for banking, compared to 33-percent in 2013.

Spreading the survey's reach found that 22-percent of all mobile phone owners made at least one mobile payment in 2014, compared to 17-percent the year before.

39-percent of those surveyed used their phones to track purchases and expenses, and 33-percent scanned barcodes with their phones to find the lowest price.

Security remains a big issue for those not yet embracing mobile banking.
